1. IP Access Product Convergence

We’ve successfully completed the second phase of aligning the Lumen EMEA and Colt product and solution portfolios. This convergence brings you the best of both worlds, combining strengths from each portfolio to deliver a more streamlined experience.

In support of this, all Lumen EMEA Internet Access customers will transition to the Colt Internet Access product suite.  The Lumen Internet Access products that will be transitioned are:

  • Lumen Dedicated Internet Access (DIA)
  • Lumen Dedicated Internet Extension (LDIE)
  • Lumen Enterprise Broadband Access Service (EBAS)
  • Lumen Broadband Internet Access (BIA)

Colt Internet Access product portfolio consists of Colt IP Access and Partner Internet Access (PIA).  Colt IP Access provides dedicated permanent access to the public Internet suitable for enterprises. Partner Internet Access is an internet resold service with over 180 partners worldwide offering a wide variety of internet services such Dedicated Internet Access, Broadband, 4GLTE/5G wireless, LEO Satellite, etc.

2. What does this mean for you?

New services will be delivered as IP Access on the Colt IQ Internet network or as a Partner Internet Access resale

Existing services will continue to operate on the current network platforms for the remainder of their contract term or until a modification to the service is requested

Modifications:

    • Modification of EMEA DIA on AS3356 Internet network: These will be supported either via the Colt Online portal or your Colt Account Manager
    • Modification of EMEA DIA services on AS3549 Internet network: These will generally trigger the parallel build of a replacement service on either Colt’s AS3356 EMEA Internet network or Colt IQ Internet network
    • Modification of DIA services on AS3356 or AS3549 in North America, LATAM & Asia: These will generally trigger the parallel build of a replacement Colt IP Access or Partner Internet Access service.
    • Modification of LDIE, EBAS & BIA services: These will generally trigger the parallel build of a replacement Colt IP Access or Partner Internet Access service

Renewals:

    • Renewal of EMEA DIA services delivered on AS3356 Internet network: These will be supported business as usual
    • Renewal of EMEA DIA services on AS3549 EMEA Internet network: These will generally trigger the parallel build of a replacement service on either Colt’s AS3356 EMEA Internet network or Colt IQ Internet network
    • Renewal of DIA services on AS3356 or AS3549 in North America, LATAM & Asia: These will generally trigger the parallel build of a replacement Colt IP Access or Partner Internet Access service.
    • Renewal of LDIE, EBAS & BIA services: These will generally trigger the parallel build of a replacement Colt IP Access or Partner Internet Access service

Provider Aggregatable (PA) IP Address assignment

    • Modifications and renewals that trigger the parallel build of the service onto an alternative network will typically require the return of any PA IP address assignments associated with the original Internet access service and the reallocation of a new PA IP address block to be used with the new service.

3. Product Mapping

Each Lumen Internet access service will be mapped to the following equivalent Colt IP Access service in Colt’s systems..

4. Commercial model change

The most significant commercial changes to your services once they have been migrated are the naming format used in invoices and how usage charges are invoiced for Lumen DIA services in North America, Latam & Asia.

  • Changes to naming conventions used on invoices:
    • The product name will change from DIA to IP Access
    • Billing Arrangement will change to ACDR

  • Usage charges on services in North America, Latam & Asia
    • All usage-based bandwidth services (commit+burst) in the US, Asia & LATAM regions will be moved to a flat-rate model. In these instances, you will still be able to burst above your committed bandwidth, but for the duration of your existing contract term you will not be charged for excess usage/burst traffic
