Product portfolio optimisation

1. Introduction

We've successfully completed the second phase of aligning the Lumen EMEA and Colt product and solution portfolios. This convergence brings you the best of both worlds, combining strengths from each portfolio to deliver a more streamined experience.

In support of this effort, we are launching the Colt IP Transit product. All Lumen EMEA HSIP customers will transition onto Colt IP Transit.

IP Transit is a service that allows your network to access the global internet through a high-performance, dedicated connection. IP Transit provides full routing table access and the ability to announce your own IP prefixes.

The convergence of this product enhances the reliability, security and performance of your services.

2. What does this mean for you?

New IP transit services will be delivered on AS3356 in EMEA and AS8220 in North America and Asia-Pacific (the combined Lumen EMEA and Colt network)

Existing Lumen EMEA HSIP services will continue to operate on the current network platforms and be managed by Colt IT systems

There will be no service disruption or downtime during this convergence

The functionality will remain the same as you have today, but the customer portal to manage your services will change from Control Center to Colt Online. Existing services delivered outside of EMEA will appear in a portal but will not show performance monitoring

What is different about the converged IP Transit product?

There are a couple of changes in service features - the biggest one being the product name. For billing options name changes please see the below table. Important highlights are that new services outside EMEA would be provided on AS8220 as a standard solution. For more details, please contact your account team.

Flat-rate Flat-rate
CDR UBB (Usage Based Billing)
Billing arrangement Aggregate Committed Data Rate (Aggregate UBB)

Will the commercial model change?

There are no differences in the commercial model compared to Lumen EMEA. Your account team will remain available to support with any changes to your service that you are unable to manage through the self-serve functionality in the portals.

Wave service monitoring

Proactive monitoring/notification was offered as an optional service to Lumen EMEA Wavelength customers. For customers who have this optional service, it will continue following your migration to the Colt converged wave service.

For newly delivered converged Wave products, proactive monitoring and notification is a feature that will be available as standard for all new wave services.

5. Additional resources

Colt Online is the self-service, one stop customer portal (Lumen EMEA Control Center equivalent) to manage your services once you have either purchased a converged product or have been fully migrated to the Colt systems. There is extensive Colt Online help with FAQs, tutorials and supporting videos.
