1. Introduction

We’ve successfully completed the final phase of aligning the Lumen EMEA and Colt product and solution portfolios. This convergence brings you the best of both worlds, combining strengths from each portfolio to deliver a more streamlined experience.

In support of this effort, all Lumen EMEA SD WAN customers will transition to the Colt SD WAN product suite.

The Colt SD WAN Service provides you with the ability to combine multiple access connections with application-based traffic forwarding and security functions to create a software defined network using diverse network controllers.

2. Mapping to a converged product

All Lumen EMEA SD WAN products listed below, will be mapped to Colt SD WAN, and will appear as such on invoices after the data migration

  • SD WAN
  • SD WAN Premium
  • Lumen SD WAN with Versa Networks
  • Hybrid WAN Connectivity

3. What does this mean for you?

Your Versa Director access had already moved ahead of the data migration into Colt Online. Following this data migration, all your customer data, service inventory, invoicing information will all now be available in Colt Online.

Invoices will show the converged product name Colt SD WAN.

Navigating Colt Online with Versa Director

Colt Online will replace Lumen Control Center as the portal to manage your services

Versa Director portal will continue to be the SD WAN Management Portal that allows you to monitor or change the SD WAN service or access SD WAN analytics

You will navigate to Versa Director through Colt Online. Navigation instructions are available here.

If you have your own Identity Provider (IDP): Please follow these steps to integrate your IDP with Colt Online and then share details of users who need access to Versa Director with your account team

If you don’t have your own IDP otherwise users will need to request Colt Online accounts using this link Registration | Colt Online

4. About Colt SD WAN

The Colt SD WAN Service allows you to securely route traffic over its various network connections between your branch locations and the internet based on configurations developed by Colt and you.

The SD WAN Service utilises software, deployed on Colt-provided customer premise equipment appliance at your locations.

Colt offers various security services integrated with network services based on the SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) model. Colt provides a single-vendor option with Versa SDWAN and Versa SASE integration, as well as a multi-vendor SASE option where Versa is the SDWAN vendor integrated with Zscaler as the SSE (Secure Service Edge) vendor.

The CPE associated with SD-WAN is provided on a rental basis. Colt or its supplier configures and ships to your sites. The SD WAN device establishes logical connections with other Customer CPE appliances across a physical WAN.

SD WAN Structure

The Colt SD WAN product has a different structure from the Lumen EMEA SD WAN product offering

Lumen EMEA SD WAN

  • Single or Dual Device
  • Device Type (small, large)
  • Security Package
  • Optional Service Items
    • Installation
    • Maintenance

Colt SD WAN

  • BW speed
  • Number of CPEs
  • Number of WAN connections on CPE
  • Type of WAN Connections
    • MPLS
    • Internet

Will the commercial model change?

The most significant change following migration of services to the Colt converged product is invoices.

Only two line-items will appear for each SD WAN instance element.

  • Non-Recurring Charge (NRC) – this is a one-off charge for the installation of a new service
  • Monthly Recurring Charge (MRC) – this is the monthly recurring charge for the Colt SD WAN service
