Operator Connect for Resellers

Operator Connect provides a calling option that companies can self-manage when integrating with Microsoft Teams.

Analog devices including fax machines, modems, and teletype/telecommunication device  (TTY/TDD) devices are not supported in Operator Connect.

You can use Direct Routing to integrate this type of devices into Teams.

Operator Connect is available with selected Office 365 licenses.

Customers will need access to Microsoft Teams and  Teams Phone System.

A Reseller of VOIP is a “provider of electronic communication services” and must comply with national regulation

Depending on the country a registration with a national address can be required.

Granting Consent through Operator Connect is no longer mandatory.

To be able to upload numbers into the customer tenant only the tenant ID is required

!it is possible that Operator Connect, Direct routing and Microsoft calling plans coexist in the same tenant, each for different needs of coverage or technology. It is also common that during the migrating of PBX voice services to Teams, other platforms co-exist for a time

Operator Connect is for resellers looking for an automated and simple way to activate numbers in Teams. Numbers are reserved and then moved from Colt's platform and into the end customer's tenant within minutes. Resellers must have a Colt profile per country and can order numbers when needed b themselves.

Direct Routing is for Resellers looking for more flexibility in the number configuration. Numbers are reserved and handed over to the reseller, who will then be in charge of the configuration in to the end customers tenant. A Colt order must be raised per customer.

To onboard a reseller it is necessary to have a Microsoft Tenant ID (owned by the reseller) and register activity with the local National Regulatory Authority (NRA).

In France from 1st January 2023.

Resellers need to apply for their own 01-05 or 09 nomadic number ranges from ARCEP together with a porting/routing prefix which Colt can host on their behalf

In the Teams Admin under the Voice menu in Phone numbers, the customer will see all the Telephone numbers that have been provided.

Note that Colt Technology Services will appear as the provider of the numbers.
