1. Introduction

We’ve successfully completed the second phase of aligning the Lumen EMEA and Colt product and solution portfolios. This convergence brings you the best of both worlds, combining strengths from each portfolio to deliver a more streamlined experience.

Dark Fibre is a standard product for Colt already and the characteristics of the Lumen product are very similar to the Colt product. Going forward we will therefore use the Colt product for all new Dark Fibre sales on the combined Colt and Lumen fibre assets.

Dark Fibre is delivered as metro Dark Fibre service across 51 metro networks, and as national or international Dark Fibre across the combined long haul fibre estate.

2. What does this mean for you?

New Dark Fibre services will be delivered on the Colt infrastructure (the combined Lumen EMEA and Colt network).

Existing Lumen EMEA Dark Fibre services will continue to operate on the current infrastructure but will be managed by Colt IT systems after migration.

There will be no service disruption or downtime during this convergence

The functionality will remain the same as you have today, but the customer portal to manage your services will change from Control Center to Colt Online

What is different about the converged Dark Fibre product?

Combining the Lumen EMEA and Colt network assets leads to an increased network coverage. This means the converged DF product will now also be available in additional markets as Norway and Sweden. There is no significant differences in product features between the ex-Lumen EMEA service and the Colt Dark Fibre product.

Will the commercial model change?

There are no differences in the commercial model compared to Lumen EMEA. Your account team will remain available to support with any changes to your service that you are unable to manage through the self-serve functionality in the portals.

3. Mapping to a converged product

The diagram shows how Lumen services will be mapped to COLT services, which will be shown on the invoice.

Colt Online is the self-service, one stop customer portal (Lumen EMEA Control Center equivalent) to manage your services once you have either purchased a converged product or have been fully migrated to the Colt systems.
